200 years of cheers for Hennessy

Cognac connoisseurs, entertainers, and the fashionably inclined made the Regency Bar & Lounge at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel their destination of choice Sunday last for the 200th-anniversary celebrations of the Hennessy VSOP cognac. The original cognac bottle, known as the “charentaise”, dates back to the mid-19th century. Rebranding for the 200th version came in the form of a mod new design — a tribute to its heritage. Hennessy has reimagined the architectural, slope-shouldered charentaise in a limited-edition carafe, complete with a special-edition bottle and gift box set.

Now, when the head of Moët Hennessy visits The Rock, what better way to fête him than with a soirée at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel? J Wray & Nephew (JWN) and the Moët Hennessy team on The Rock threw a fashionably apropos-themed bash at the Regency.

It’s no secret that Hennessy is a gentleman’s cognac, and naturally, the gents were out to celebrate and imbibe their favourite blend: Hennessy VSOP, which paired beautifully with assorted crustacean classics. Entertainment was provided by Third Dimension’s principal Kamal Bankay and the acclaimed disc jock Bishop Escobar.
