Ensocard Resilience by Stora Enso is a new material option for packaging applications where high tear-resistance is required. The product consists of renewable baseboard and PET coating on both sides, which makes it strong enough to withstand tearing. Ensocard Resilience can replace plastic, for example in child-resistant pharmaceuticals packaging.

Ensocard Resilience is a tailor-made packaging material developed by Stora Enso for pharmaceuticals, para-pharmaceuticals, e-cigarettes and other products that must be kept secure from children. Ensocard Resilience will be introduced at the Interpack packaging exhibition in May 2017.

“Stora Enso has long experience in producing tear-resistant board for certified child-resistant pharmaceuticals packaging, so the performance in the very demanding end use is proven. The new Ensocard Resilience provides even better tear-resistance than the materials that we have offered so far. Together with clever packaging design, Ensocard Resilience enables efficient, industrial production of child-resistant packaging with no additional plastic parts,” says Product Manager Jaana Keskitalo.
