Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, is identified as a Nordic leader for the quality of its climate change related information, disclosed to investors and the global marketplace, by CDP, the international not-for-profit organisation that drives sustainable economies. Scoring 100/100, Metsä Board has been awarded a position on the Nordic Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI), in the Nordic edition of CDP’s annual global climate change report.

Metsä Board has earned its position on the index by disclosing high quality carbon emissions and energy data through CDP’s climate change programme. The reported data has been independently assessed against CDP’s scoring methodology and marked out of 100. Those organisations graded within the top 10% in the region constitute the CDLI.

“Our strategy to combat climate change concentrates on three areas: increasing use of bioenergy; improving resource and energy efficiency; and lightweighting our paperboards. Inclusion in the CDLI is welcome recognition that we are communicating our efforts successfully and transparently,” says Mika Joukio, CEO of Metsä Board. “We gained a significant score of 100/100, improving on last year. It is also gratifying that it follows our award of a place on this year’s CDP Water A List.”
