Steven Overman, the newly appointed chief marketing officer of Kodak, has told FESPA that the company will committed to heavy investment in its research and development activities as part of a strategy to reignite the brand.

Overman, who joined the company at the start of October, has also assumed the role of senior vice-president, corporate marketing, and will become a member of the firm’s executive council.

Reporting directly to chief executive officer Jeff Clarke, Overman will assume responsibility for leading a global, company-wide renewal of the Kodak brand in order to increase its power, relevance and value in the wake of recent troubles. Overman will lead the strategic development and coordination of Kodak’s brand identity, global marketing programs and activities, as well as communication of Kodak’s vision, strategy and progress.
